STUDENT MENTOR FOUNDATION LUCERNE was established on November 4, 2005 in Lucerne as a charitable foundation. Its purpose is to create affordable housing for students at universities, colleges and other educational institutions. It may carry out its activities in all of Switzerland and abroad.
The founder
The foundation was financed from part of the proceeds generated by the sale of the Böhringer Mannheim GmbH group of companies to Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel. Part of the sale price was transferred to a foundation-like structure, from which various foundations with cultural, social and other charitable purposes could be established and financed. STUDENT MENTOR FOUNDATION LUCERNE is one of these foundations. Another is the ART MENTOR FOUNDATION LUCERNE, which was established in July 2003.
